KD5UDB Operating Portable

Portable QRP operations from the head of the Bright Angel Trail  - South Rim of the Grand Canyon.

Equipment: Elecraft KX1 and Buddipole.

We had the bad luck of having fires on the North Rim during our visit to the canyon,  plenty of smoke to look at as you can see from the photo.

This is in Central Louisiana and is a favorite place for camping, paddling and operating radio. The pic was taken in Sep 2004
